You know when you have such a good weekend that you don’t want it to end? And then, you get to Monday, and you’re like, “Happy Running!” even though usually you hate Mondays because they mean the end of the weekend, but your weekend was justthatgood, that you just can’t hate on Monday because you’re still not down off your “high” from the weekend? You know what I mean? Yeah, that. So that’s where I am today.
My weekend was BLISSFUL, there’s no other way to describe it. I didn’t do anything exciting or big or newsworthy, but it was the perfect weekend for me, right now. I tweeted a bit about it; y’all who follow me on Twitter might remember hearing about
- Sleeping in
- Gabbing with my parents
- Going out on the boat
- Crabbing
- Fishing
- Eating the fruits of said crabbing labors
- Killer Lebanese food
- Walking at sunset
- Sunshine
- 3 mile run
- Vegging out
- Relaxing
- More of the same
I feel like weekends (as a grown-up) get crammed with all the stuff you don’t have time to do during the week. Laundry, cleaning, paying bills, etc. Which, really? Totally takes the fun out of the weekend, right?! This weekend was like turning back time to when I was in my late teens or early twenties, and didn’t have much in the way of responsibility. My parents spoiled me (“sleep in as late as you want, honey” “what do you want for dinner, habibti?” <— that’s Arabic for sweetheart/honey/darling). I rested. I ran. I ate good, whole, healthy food that was delishascrumptious. And I came back recharged and excited to tackle this crazybusy week ahead.
How was your weekend? Any fun moments, races to talk about, amazing meals to share?
